I work with children, young people and adults to build shared stories together — creating spaces where engagement, confidence and literacy can grow through collaboration.

This is an artist-led practice shaped by two decades of working in schools, PRUs, prisons and community spaces.

My practise is relational rather than instructional, and organised around what actually happens in rooms — attention, participation and shared thinking — with an emphasis on the value of contribution.

The work is celebratory by design and held carefully. Rather than asking individuals to “tell their story”, sessions centre on building collectively: characters, places, problems and worlds that belong to the group.

Drawing, writing, talking and role-play all have a place. There’s no pressure to perform or share personal experiences. Every contribution shapes the world the group is making, whether that’s through speaking, listening, watching or making marks.

This work takes place in primary and secondary schools, PRUs and alternative provision, libraries and community settings, often with groups where confidence or engagement feels fragile.

It’s adaptable across ages and settings, can sit alongside curriculum priorities and be steered towards outcomes where useful — but its starting point is always relationship, curiosity and shared making.

I also deliver keynote talks, guest sessions and conference workshops for organisations and professional audiences.
This work explores engagement, participation and creativity through practical, inclusive approaches, shaped carefully around the people, purpose and context in the room.
